    Managing Director and CEO

    Mr. Al Shorafa brings a host of strengths to his role as Managing Director and CEO of UEM with proven abilities in strategic planning, policy implementation and innovative management. He currently holds Board positions in a number of leading organizations spanning a variety of sectors throughout the region. Mr. Al Shorafa holds an MBA from London Business School and has also attended a variety of programs at highly reputed institutions such as MIT Sloan and Citibank Global Asset Management.

  • Majd Abu Zant

    Chief Operating Officer

    With his extensive background in healthcare management, Mr. Abu Zant brings a wealth of international and regional experience to UEMedical’s network of hospitals and clinics. Since joining in 2007, he has been a driving force behind the successful collaborations with leading international healthcare providers, creating strong partnerships to enhance and promote quality healthcare services in the UAE.

    In his role as Chief Operating Officer of UEMedical, and CEO of HealthPlus Medical Services, he oversees the planning and execution of key healthcare projects across the group. Upon conducting comprehensive market research on the UAE’s healthcare sector, he works towards creating purpose built and specialised healthcare facilities that address the community’s needs, and deliver high quality, outcome driven care.

    Prior to joining UEMedical, Majd was Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Director of Support Services at King Hussain Cancer Center, one of the most prominent cancer institutes in the region.

    Mr. Abu Zant holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland (RCSI) and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University, Canada.

  • Michael David Gani

    Chief Financial Officer

    Mr. Gani has significant experience in audits and interim reviews of private and public companies and his key areas of specialization include transaction advisory services including lead advisory (fundraising – debt and equity), business valuations and buy and sell financial due diligence. Mr. Gani is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Warwick Business School and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy with Business Finance (Honors) from the University of Dundee.

  • Muzaffer Nahvi

    Group Chief Human Resources Officer

    Muzaffer is responsible for HR efforts of the Organization across all its business units, with special focus on designing and executing people strategies in coordination with top management and Business Unit Heads. He has over 20 years of experience in leading and managing change in healthcare and other sectors. His thorough functional knowledge is supported by a Masters of Business Administration with special interests in Human Resources and Industrial laws.

  • Farah Al Alami

    Chief Marketing & Communications Officer

    In her role as the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, Mrs. Farah Al Alami leads the marketing and communications function on a corporate level and throughout UEMedical’s subsidiaries. With over 12 years experience in healthcare communications and PR in the Middle East (ME) region, Farah served most recently as the Regional Director of Communications & PR in ME, Turkey & UK for US-based Cleveland Clinic from 2013 - 2016. Farah previously led media relations and internal communications at Abu Dhabi’s tertiary hospital Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. In between, Farah was part of UEMedical’s team for two years as the group marketing & communications manager.

    Mrs. Al Alami is also an elected Board Member at the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA), a non-profit member association, established to set world-class standards for the public relations and communication industry in the Middle East. Throughout her experience, Farah focus was on healthcare marketing and communications. Farah was also invited to present a health segment in a weekly medical TV show (Fi Baytina Tabeeb) on Abu Dhabi TV Station from 2012 until 2014 with over 55 aired episodes/reports.

    Mrs. Al Alami holds an MBA (with distinction) from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the Yarmouk University in Jordan.
